While I'm only 42, I still remember and have some 78's. I mentioned 45's the other day and my 17 yr old asked me what I was talking about.

FQ - Vegas is just 3 1/2 hours away, but I hope it won't come to that. I'm sure the next step would be to make it illegal to bring it across state lines.

They'll probably make some special ammo that will be the only type that will be able to be fired from our microstamping "smart" Nerf guns, which will be all that the subjects of California will be allowed to posess. Gun buybacks are preceding the already planned door-to-door confiscation of all guns that don't shoot microstampable smart Nerf. This is not so farfetched in Kalifornia and makes me think of a Bowie song title, "This is Not America."

As I've mentioned I am a teacher. I used the Clarence Thomas hearings as an example of how race trumps gender in Amercan Politics. I just figured the students knew all about it as the Hill-Thomas thing was such a big deal. Clueing in on the blank stares, I asked, "Y'all remember this right"? To which one of my students raised her hand and said, "Sir, I was seven". Needless to say, I made it to happy hour that night.

Not really. If her last name was Smith, she would have had a harder (though not impossible) time getting the job. Just like Thomas was the best qualified candidate (assuming you were only looking at black conservatives) Sotomayor is the best qualified candidate   ( if you're only looking for a female Hispanic). Affirmative action at its finest.
