Yes, but they are irrelevant now that he is in office..... Could he release it, yes. But its his call not mine. If the standard for running for public office is standing naked under a spotlight, get ready for Paris Hilton vs Mitt Rommney in '012. BTW, I'm not defending BO here, just saying these attacks are kookier by the day and distract conservatives from asking the question "Where did WE go wrong"? Rather than blaming everyon else for their own screwups. Its called taking responsibility, which used to be part of the GOP plartform till W gave Libby a walk and pushed the 1st bailout. Just sayin'.

The media dug up Ws dental records when trying to prove he was a deserter.  How come we (I) can't ask about a public officials past?

School records and transcripts?  ABSOLUTELY!  Clubs and affiliations?  ABSOLUTELY (skull and bones anyone?)  Travel to foreign counties?  ABSOLUTELY!  Financial obligations? ABSOLUTELY!

ALL of these things (and more) directly impact character, judgment and  give an insight to how a person will react to a situation or in decision making.

Why do he and his minions do more work to answer a simple question?

If I'm investigating a crime where someone used a touch tone phone to make a call, I ask for the right index finger print from a group of people, , but only one person refuses to give the print, who do you think I'm going to go after even if everyone claims they weren't there?

Quit avoiding the question, and quit having your "People" produce documents that don't matter.  Give us the simplest of simple proof.

While I may agree that the GOP went off the reservation, you act as if the Dem's are not at fault for of current situation. You don't acknowledge that they have held congress for the last 2 years. Nor do you place blame on the DEMOCRATS responsible for the housing crisis. Our current economic situation can be placed firmly at the feet of Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and Bill Clinton.

When Republicans tried to audit, and reform Fannie, and Freddie, they were filibustered to prevent fixing the problem. This was done by Frank. If you really want to fix the problems in Washington, first stop blaming the parties for corruption. The Dem's are far more corrupt the the GOP. (New Jersey ring a bell). But stop looking to congress to police themselves. Instead figure out a way that WE THE PEOPLE can start to do independent investigations of the corrupt asshats and then shame the rest of congress to throw them out. Obviously the people that keep electing them are to stupid to vote them out!

There we agree. I am neither defending the Dems nor attacking the GOP. Third Party guy here, remember? I'm just saying that if the best the GOP has to persuade me is the birth certificate crap, if they say aha! he shouldn't have been elected, I still at the the time of the 2008 election, would have voted for the next availble Dem, and so would millions of others. THATS the problem. The GOP is trying so hard to find a gotcha, they have forgotten about me and people like me who are as apt to vote R as D and haven't made a case to us. They're telling me what they're against, not what they're for. Until I here that, in a way that does not include a neo-con foreign policy or a religious right social policy, my answer is no.
