He did get off easy.

Last summer a coworker's nephew got a ticket on his bike.  The ticket was for a 100 mph over the limit.  He was doing 155 mph in a 55 mph zone.  He was with a buddy and the friend slowed down and was stopped by the police.  The cops let the friend off if he ratted on the nephew, which he did.  The nephew was never stopped and the police had never actually tried to stop him as they were never in a postion to do that.  They went to his house and gave him the ticket.  The nephew got a fairly heavy fine and 6 points against his DL.  In MI you are allowed 12 points and your DL is suspended and is also suspended for certain violations.  He probably got off as easy as he did because the cops had not attempted to stop him and more serious charges would have been difficult to prove in court.

Blackwolfe,

Back in my day in MI, that would have gotten a reckless driving ticket as well and another 6 points for a total of 12 points.  Bye, Bye, license....he got off easy too!

Heck, I slid my mom's '74 Maverick across two lanes of traffic with those little four inch wide tires, smoked the living shite out of 'em.  It won me a "Careless driving" ticket and 4 points! ;D ;D ;D ;D

They never caught me on the Kawasaki though! ;D
