Years ago at the clays range in NY we had a guy trying to sell handguns out of his trunk. (Outright illegal in NY) Had several rare and desirable pieces. First guy he approached was a retired Federal Marshall who picked up on the scam right off, including the concealed camera in a car in the parking lot.

Everyone just smiled politely at his sales pitch.

If he shouts threats, just smile and wave.
