The Colt Mustang WAS a miniature 1911 in .380 ACP.  The Sig is just a real expensive copy of the Mustang with a little Siggy look to it.

I'll take the original anyday.  The Sig, not so much unless of course someone needs me to test one for ten or twenty years! ;D

Colt actually had two different sizes in the 1911 .380 pistols.
One (what I have) is called the Colt Ser.80 Gov't Model .380 and is about half the size of a standard 1911 and holds 7 rounds.
The Mustang is even smaller and holds one less round than the Gov't, kinda like a 'Commander' version in .380.

The $600 tag for the Sig is an eye-popper....makes me happy about the $200 I paid for the Colt....(of course that was a ways back).

Don't forget the Colt Pony.  I have the slightly larger Colt Pocket 9.  I prefer the double action trigger for a pocket gun.

Fondled one at the gun show Sun. It's verry nice.  A little harder to carry inside of a pocket, like my Kel-Tec, but a sweet pistol.

The price at the show was $575.00.

extra mags cost way more than Kel-Tec, but are about the same as PPK/S.

The thought I have is:

Gun makers are jumping on the .380 ammo train, but the ammo is scarce, and even more expensive than .45Colt. ???

Speer GDHP .380 20rds. $32.00.
Mag-tech target 50 rds. $27.00

Winchester 225gr. 45Colt LRP, 20rds. $27.00
Magtech Cowboy 45Colt, 50 rds. $$25.00

I would rather have 45colt any day. As for .380 i haven't seen any for about 6 months now. I have a model 84fs and bersa thunder .380 that haven't been shot for at least a year. No ammo means i have some very cool looking paper wieghts.
