I dunno about scared about using a firearm, handguns I dont think I would have an issue although that being said it would greatly depend on the make, who loaded it and who maintained it.
I have seen people use some crappy guns that scare me.
As far as rifles yeah that .577 trex would make me hesitant as well as the 4 bore BP shot gun, that thing looks brutal.

I can attest to though that firing two .44's  simultaneously, one in each hand is quite fun!

Yes it is!!!!!      ;)   ;D

Muahhhhh another big kid too I see LOL

On saturday we had a new guy come to the club with another member and shot his .22 s&w and 22wmr rifle.
After the comp I let him try some real guns, 9mm cz, .357 taurus and redhawk even my .22 charger much to his delight. Nothing lit up his eyes when another senior member and myself placed a .44 in his hand each (with us on either side supervising) and let him blast a couple rounds off at the same time.. I think he is hooked now  ;D
Its certainly not something that you would let every newby try but there are some exceptions - he was stoked and you couldnt wipe the grin off with an wire wheel and a angle grinder. Shooting should be many things and unfortunately in these days of goody goody antis and half wit politicians the fun bit is often left out, and as long as its safe the fun part should be encouraged if we want our sport and way of life to continue, after all we arent getting younger and we need people to take over when we are worm bait.

This would be fun too.  Pedersoli Black powder double barrel pistol from Cabelas in 20 guage or .58 caliber. I couldn't make the picture show up, so you'll have to click the kink.

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0058399216598a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntt=howdah&Ntk=Products&sort=all&Go.y=9&_D%3AhasJS=+&N=0&_D%3Asort=+&Nty=1&hasJS=true&Go.x=15&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form1&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1

With twin barrels packing a one-two wallop, this big-bore pistol was popular with Europeans exploring the vast jungles of India and Burma in the mid-1800s. On a typical excursion, explorers and soldiers were part of an elephant caravan. Riding on a howdah (the basket perched atop an elephant) may look safe in today's world, but a century ago danger was imminent. Tigers could scale the side of a slow-moving elephant in the blink of an eye, causing great concern for startled riders. To combat surprise big-cat attacks, the Howdah-style side-by-side pistol was created. Two cavernous 20-gauge smoothbore barrels or .58 caliber rifled barrels may be loaded with buckshot, a single slug, or the devastating "buck and ball"-load common in big-bore muzzleloaders used on dangerous game. Whichever you choose, this hand-cannon will square up on a target with a sense of authority not seen since the days of Victorian-era British imperialism. Squeeze one of the triggers, and you'll appreciate the hand-conforming checkered walnut grip and the recoil-soaking end-cap counterweight as this charge-stopping pistol lays down its withering hail of lead. Its case-hardened lockplates are engraved with detailed wild animal scenes.
Barrel length: 11-1/4".
Overall length: 17-3/4".
Weight: 4-1/2 lbs.
Available: 20 ga., .58 cal.

That all depends on how much extra 'baggage' there is in the cargo hold.........in my case, two 105's might get it done.    ;D

And yes, firing two 1911's at the same time is fun too.

Did any of y'all happen to see Impossible Shots last week? Jerry Miculeck had six M&P's staged and was firing one in each hand as fast as he could.

Thanks everyone for your replies.

Just an update; I faced the beast again today at lunch!  I took an extended lunch and met my buddy at the range and he brought the little monster with him again (actually, it's his back up and it's always with him).

Knowing what type of punishment I was going to take I was prepared, but actually shot worse than the first time.  I think it was because I was anticipating the recoil this time.  I just had to do it again.  Normally it's loaded with +P's and shooting those felt much tamer.

At least I can say I tried again.

As a side note, I did have the opportunity to shoot a Sig 210.  Nice gun but my groups from my CZ SP-01 were just as tight with WWB.  Maybe match ammo or customized handloads would have shown its true potential.
