With S&W's new AR22 at $500 I think this is a little spendy, and I would prefer it to be a little closer to an AR.  However, I think that for the general plinker or someone that does not shoot AR's this is a great gun.  The base being a 10/22 means that the aftermarket is already for it with low price items for both upgrades and needs.
Aftermarket barrels are already set!

So...we got ourselves all worked up for a 10/22 wearing AR-15 pasties and price tag?...  ::)

One good thing....this might drop the demand (and prices) on the plain-Jane 10/22's so I can pick up a few for around the house....  ;D

I'd have preferred the SR-9 Compact or LCP-9mm, though....  :'(
Why, yes....I'm the right-wing extremist Obama warned you about... ;D

I would have been pissed if they introduced a LCP-9....... I just bought a Kel-Tec P32

Well count me among the disappointed. I am a Ruger supporter, but this looks Hokey to me. It is not as close to an AR as the S&W. The safety is in the wrong place, the magazine release is wrong, and the magazine look is pure 10/22.
I think I will pass on this one as I did on the Remington.
Does anyone have any experience with the S&W?
