Kel Tec makes one that accepts handgun mags, again, I think you own one though I may be wrong. Any thoughts Haz?

The Kel-Tec Sub-2000 is a folding carbine that takes handgun mags (different depending on caliber). Compact, light, and very accurate. Mine is .40 S&W and uses Glock 22 mags.

The main thing with the Kel-Tec versus the Hi-Point is price. The Kel-Tec goes for a little over twice the cost of the Hi-Point.

The only reason I ended up with one is because a guy owed me $200 and gave the Kel-Tec for it.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

You're absolutely right.  They don't come in .22lr.  (Hopefully one day they will.)

I own a 559 carbine (9 mill.) and my first shots out of the box were at 50 yards and it was amazingly accurate!  I say this because I didn't clean the carbine at all, just put the bolt and sling on; and because the last time I shot at 50 yards was when I fired the Mossberg 464 about a year ago.  I am not a good shot and I spend most of my time shooting .22s from my Henry and Heritage at 25 yards.

The HiPoint shot all 50 rounds in an area that would be covered by a custard plate.  For me that's plenty accurate.

I wish that they made a version in .357 SIG because then I would risk saying it's a modern cversion of the 30 Carbine.
