At $160 I am thinking about the 9mm. I would hugely prefer .45 though. The thing is I disregarded my own advice and panicked my way into an AR I don't need. Want and am glad to have, yes, need, not so much. Even though I think that BOs odds of getting an AWB passed at this point are right up there with my odds of converting to Islam or getting picked up by Angelina Jolie; I still bought one when I found a DPMS at 2007 prices ($560 give or take). Problem is that although I justified it as hurricane defense (yeah, yeah, but we all have our rationales, I'm going with looters, just work with me here). The thing is that even then slinging a lot of .556 around in the suburbs seems like a bad idea. 9mm or .45 on the other hand.......If they would just make a high cap mag. >:(  Don't they know their customers? I mean for God's sake how many FUDDS are going to buy that rifle?

FQ,

If the mags would at least switch between carbine and hand gun it would be nice.  Rumor has it that a .45 is in the works but who knows when.

BTW I don't think 5.56 is gonna do much to a hurricane.  ;)

Maybe not the hurricane, but it should get the undivided attention of someone trying to steal my generator. ;D

Kel Tec makes one that accepts handgun mags, again, I think you own one though I may be wrong. Any thoughts Haz?

Nope, don't got one of them either.

Kel Tek is a good company but if I was to buy one it would probably be the HiPoint.  Price, track record and life time guarantee.

Funny you mentioned looters...   After Andrew, my sister and I were watching the news coverage.  They interviewed a very young National Guardsman and questioned what he was there for.  He answered, "We're here to stop the looters and the lootering."  We still bring that one up every once in a while.

I now return your thread to its regularly scheduled direction.
The person who has nothing for which his is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I promise that post hurricane, hoping I never see another one(four was enough, with one trip to the Er for heat stroke and back injuries from falling off a ladder), I will use my weapons to stop "lootering" on my block. ;D
