An Illinois massacre
« on: October 02, 2009, 05:09:50 PM »
The second of two dirtbags who murdered my childhood friend and six other people in an Illinois restaurant nearly 17 years ago will be sentenced next week.  Had my friend been armed he, his wife and their five employees might be alive today.   I've written about it in my blog, Gun Thoughts.  Here's a link to the posting:  http://esmeraldasden.blogspot.com/2009/10/stump-time-3-memory-of-massacre.html

Here's hoping this dirtbag gets the needle.

And may God hold your friend, and the friends with whom he met his maker, in the palm of his hand.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

17 years seems way too long for this scumbag to still be breathing. Does Ill. have a death penalty anymore?

Life without parole seems too good for him.

Sorry for the loss of your friend. I hope the bastard gets his just desserts in Joliet Prison, and never has a chance to get out for the rest of his miserable existence.

If you still hunt and shoot, he will always be with you for every trip.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Clark -

I was living in Evanston at the time, and I remember this killing well. Very chilling, and from the way the press was all over this - after all, killings in Cook County have never really been big news - that there was more to it than just a bunch of people being killed.

I remembered they had nailed one of the guys, but completely missed that they had nabbed a second. Good on them - finally.

I read your blog, and I can only wish you peace for all that you and Richard and Lynn's families have been through these past 2 decades. I hope her gets the needle too, but well after the entire prison wing has their way with his sorry, sub-human ass - many times.

As you continue your part in our fight for gun rights remember that the dirt bags pulled the trigger and they will FINALLY be punished for it.
But the bigger dirt bags who bear the ultimate responsibility, are the nanny state liberals who peak out from behind their (armed ) body guards to denounce the citizens right to defend him or her self. They are the ones who disarmed your freind and they will retire with a pension we, their victims, will pay for.  >:(

Glad they caught the SOB........hope he gets his just rewards...........a needle would be way too kind (starvation, broken bones and finally a pool of piranhas would be better).

My prayers are that the families and friends of the victims can get some emotional peace.

Thanks, guys.  They do indeed have the death penalty in Illlinois.  The first guy got life, but this one pulled the trigger.  It was a .38 revolver.  He emptied the gun, reloaded and finished the job.  I can't imagine any jury would let him live.

You don't know Illinois juries. One member kept the first guy from getting the death penalty, I hope this doesn't happen in this case, but steel yourself - it could.

The reloading was pretty damning. Even if the death penalty doesn't apply, life without parole is still ugly. Personally, I'd rather take the needle and end it than spend 40 years in Joliet. He will pay. The important thing is to remember your friends and let this dirtbag be dead to you. My prayers are with you.
