I have to qualify with each gun that I have listed on my permit, limited to 3 guns listed at any one time. At various times I've had a GP100 .357, 9mm P89, .45 Para, .380 PPK/s, .357 M&P 340, and last and least, my NAA mini-irevolver.
I find I keep going down in size the longer I carry. I currently have the M&P .357 mag, .380 PPK/s and NAA.22 on it.
Qualification consists of 10- 5 shot groups at various distances out to 45 feet with weak hand, strong hand, both hands. The first group is always a shock to newby's because it is 5 rounds shooting from the hip with strong hand at 15 feet. All other groups are shot at 21, 30 and 45 feet.
It isn't that difficult to pass, but I have seen my share of people fail it. Passing is at least 35 of the 50 rounds in the 7,8,9,10 ring.
I barely passed it with my NAA .22LR 1.125" barrel. The problem with the .22 is that I couldn't see where I was hitting the target out past 7 yards so there was no way of knowing where I was hitting until I brought the target back in at the end of shooting.
The funny thing is that I was using .22 shorts as that was the only .22 round that I could find at the time that didn't have an exposed lead bullet (range requirement).
