How many hunters? What's in your gun safe?

This came to me during my endless (and no doubt tiresome, because its boring the crap out of me at this point ) agonizing over AK vs AR. How many of y'all hunt? Are you into guns just for  SD or target shooting, or do you go do violence to Bambi or Daffy? This is actually an interesting question as it lets us see the overlap with FUDD land  and lets us look at how our arsenals multi-task. I mean something that will take a deer at 200 yards will work for other tasks if SHTF. How much do you plan for this? (Me, a lot as I am selling my grandad's inhiereted battery to build my own. He bought the guns he wanted. I intend to do the same, knowing he would approve). I am curious as to how many of y'all go out in the woods vs how many train and compete on the range. Both are good as far as I am concerned. I'm just curious as to how many of your guns are made to multi-task. What's in your wallet?

I'll start:
Pellet gun
RWS .22 model 34 (good for squirells and rabbits
Ruger 10/22 ditto, only louder
Ruger M-77 MKII .270, shoots more or less MOA out to 300 yards, insert  zombie/deer shaped target here
Parker VH 20gauge, great for dove and quail, not fun in the living room
Merkel Model 8, great for ducks, also no fun in the house, but again louder
AK or AR, AR or AK (to be or not to be, lord I swear I'm going to buy both, as the agonizing over two $700 guns is driving even me crazy) for hunting purposes, plus SHTF
Maverick Security Model 20" barrel, 8 round tube, sucks for hunting but will work on short range hogs
I traded my .357 in on a concealable Glock, so I have no dual purpose hand gun. Tell us about yours.

I don't go after Daffy, but I do go after Phil the Pheasant with my 870 and Bambi or his mom with my Winchester 30-30.  Sometimes Wyl E. Coyote with my 'coyote rifle' in 5.56.  Going after Bambi I have been known to strap on my .45 Vaquiro

I have a 35 year old 12 Ga Wingmaster for anything and everything, including pesky home invaders.  One size fits all.

I also have a pocket full of cash because I DON'T buy things on a whim!  I'm also getting pretty good with my .357 snubbie out to 50 yards.

HI FQ,
I don't hunt now either, but it sounds like you're talking about an aresenal for "what if" conditions. I'm a handgun guy and if you want some all around capacity, I'd keep the concealable Glock but go out and get another .357- or better yet, a 44 mag. The reason being that the 44 would be a super backup for you in the wilderness (wherever that may be) The 44 will put a  hurt on just about anything with a pulse and you may need that.

several lever 22's- small game
several lever 44 mags -  Bad Guys (BG), deer, zombies
308's- BG, deer, zombies
223's- varmint,  BG, zombies
12 gauges,  grouse, BG, zombies
20 gauges, grouse, BG, zombies
Thats the long guns.  I buy guns cause I like them, and to pass on to the kids (in a very long time)  The zombie hunting is a little slow because it gets so cold in the winter, they freeze up and very easy to dispense with.  But by God I will be ready for them!
