I'm speaking English, does anyone sabe?
« on: November 02, 2009, 01:28:21 PM »
Y'know, today, I'm reading the paper when I hear the sound of saws. I go outside and see that the homeowners association has hired tree trimmers. Now, this is a lovely service, but I don't want my freaking trees trimmed as the guys get too enthusiastic about it and take down the palm fronds that protect the staghorns and orchids that grow protected from the sun. So I arm myself with a few cokes, figuring that giving beer to guys who are operating chainsaws on ladders and then using wood chippers is a bad idea. ;) So I try to tell them not to cut my trees. Simple, right? No. I could not find one of the crew that understood a single word of English. I wound up using pigden Spanish and hand gestures (not including the Glock, though I was tempted) to wave them off. I am still pissed. At what point did it become mandatory to learn a second language to do business in my own country? When do I have learn the Spanish phrase for leave my freaking trees alone? I swear to God I thought about calling ICE but know that would be an excersize in futility, even though I doubt there were two green cards between them. Americans won't do these jobs? These guys had new trucks and great equipment.A very professional outfit. You tell me you couldn't get an American to do the job if they didn't have to compete with illegals who are living 8 to an apartment and I'll call you a liar. Is there hope or should I just learn the Guatemalan/Mexican/Cuban national anthems and call it a day? Rant over.

Democrats want the illegals as future dem voters. So called "Sanctuary cities are in violation of Federal laws.Congress refuses to force enforcement of laws that are squarely THEIR prerogative. SCOTUS refuses to uphold the law. And the National legislature has acted as an accomplice in what is not only a violation of US law but also violates treaties and the UN charter segments dealing with territorial integrity.

Thing is Haz, thats not as funy as it should be. Its only Northern Cuba because the GOP allowed it and Ca. is only Northern Mexico because the Catholic Church, the Dems and the GOP see constituents there and they are being paid off by businesses that profit from it. I am tired of pressing 2 for Spanish. I want to press 3 for get a green card and learn English or go the f..k home. Frankly, I'll settle for the latter at this point. My mood isn't helped by the arrogance of the Miami Cubans, who see no reason to assimlate. Hell, Fidel's daughter has lived here for 40 years, is not a stupid woman, and still uses an interpreter for the language of what should be HER country, but its not. She and they consider themselves Cubans first and Americans second. That's a personal choice and I have no problem with it, but if you feel that way, buy a good used raft and head south, because I have no patience for you. Its our country, our language, our laws, deal with it or go elsewhere.

Actually you can thank Kennedy and carter, neither of whom belonged to the GOP.

Frankly, I don't care if they were a racist if they were willing to enforce the laws of our country. Especially when it comes to illegal immigration. Icing on the cake would be forcing politicians to adhere to the same laws that they pass for the rest of us.
I am a member of my nation's chosen soldiery.
God grant that I may not be found wanting,
that I will not fail this sacred trust.

You're forgetting Reagan's 1986 amnesty, and Bush's wet foot/dry foot policy, plus W. and McCain pushing for "comprehensive immigration reform" which to my mind should be  a whole lot of one way plane tickets rather than amnesty. The only amnesty I'm in favor of is the Dream Act (not punishing kids for the sins of the parents), the rest can pound sand for all I care, and their employers right along with them.. The fact is that Florida Cubans vote just as solidly for the GOP as blacks do for the Dems. Rubio will do nothing to cross them if he wants to stand a snowball's chance of being elected.

FQ, all of those people came AFTER JFK and Mr. Peenut. I believe it was the R Ike who launched "Operation Wetback" which was intended to chase them all back across the border.
Enforcing immagration law is always portrayed as "RACIST" that's BS. What about the Canadian here illegally ? or the Russians ?
the illegal aliens who murdered those 4 kids in NJ last year were from the Balkans.
