Somehow I knew I was right about this...
Major Hasan could be forcibly shaved!
FORT HOOD, Texas (AP) — An Army psychiatrist charged with killing 13 people in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood will be forcibly shaved if he doesn't remove his beard himself, a judge said Wednesday.
Maj. Nidal Hasan appeared in court Wednesday sporting a beard as he did during a court appearance last month. The beard violates Army regulations, but Hasan said it is an expression of his Muslim faith.
The judge, Col. Gregory Gross, held Hasan in contempt of court for keeping the beard and fined him $1,000. Fort Hood spokesman Chris Haug said Gross gave Hasan the choice to shave on his own or be forcibly shaved sometime before his court-martial begins Aug. 20.
Hasan again refused to shave and watched the rest of the day's hearing outside the courtroom.
Hasan, 41, is charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in the November 2009 massacre, the worst shooting incident on a U.S. military post. He faces the death penalty if convicted.
Until last month, he had been clean-shaven every time he attended court.
But since Hasan grew a beard, he and one of his attorneys have watched the pretrial hearings on closed-circuit television in a trailer near the courthouse. He refuses to shave, and Gross has indicated that Hasan might have to watch the court-martial from the trailer as well.
But on Wednesday, Gross said he wanted Hasan in the courtroom to prevent a possible appeal on the issue if Hasan is convicted.
Hasan's defense attorneys argued that he had not shaved in observance of the holy Islamic month of Ramadan. Ramadan is expected to end just before the court-martial starts.
Also Wednesday, Gross said he would review a copy of a new FBI report on the shootings. The report, made public last week, includes emails Hasan sent to Anwar al-Awlaki, a radical Islamic cleric killed in Yemen last year by a drone strike.
The emails range from rambling messages about supporting terrorists and U.S. soldiers killing comrades in the name of Islam to questions about whether al-Awlaki could help him find a suitable wife. The emails attracted the attention of FBI and anti-terrorism task force agents in December 2008.
But authorities did not pursue a case against Hasan, according to the report, due to a series of gaps and miscommunication errors.

To quote Sen Joe McCarthy and Michelle Bachman,
"Why are people who are known to be security risks allowed to hold US Govt jobs ?"

A phrase came to mind...
: The A-Team (1983)
Quote:
Hannibal: There are two ways we can do this: the easy way and the
hard way. In a few minutes my friends and I are going to come down
on you like your worst nightmare. You're gonna wish the Earth had
opened up and swallowed you whole.
bad guy: Whats the easy way?
Hannibal: That *was* the easy way.
By all means,....please Nidal,.....choose the "hard way"...... ::) I would prefer you shaved by a shaking alcoholic with a dull dry straight razor,....
Maybe I'm odd for thinking that...but his ass WILL be clean shaven.....a few stitches and band-aids,...but NO beard...
Shave his worthless carcass.

Have Holmes shave him.
The idea of a psycho with a razor on a terrorist traitor's throat is greatly cheering.

Damn, I like your style Tom!.......... Simple, overstated, and DIRECTLY to the point! (as usual)! ;D

Do we need to start saying "Straight Razor!" in reference to you?
I still have "Rope!" stuck in my head, and this could be a tough change ;)
-
To many liberals should be hung, we don't want to cause an artificial bubble in the rope market.
-
True Tom. An advantage to the shift would be that China is geared for disposable razors, so your new tool of choice would demand domestic craftsmanship ;D

Shivs and shanks.
100% made in America.

If'n I take a Chinese made spoon and grind it on the front stoop into a shiv, is it still American made?

"Assembled in the US from foreign and domestic parts."
Not quite 100% American made, but close enough to get the job done right.

" 100% American made Harley Davidsons" are made from Swedish, or Japanese steel, same for every single other "Buy American" product on the market.
America has not had a steel industry worth mentioning in 30+ years.
So yes your Chinese made spoon becomes an American made shiv.

My understanding is the cheaper mag/aluminum wheels are all made in China on a Harley as well! Most of the bling you buy at a Harley store is made in China!
That, and a price of about 50% of a HD was why I bought a Triumph...When I went on a ride, people were more interested in my British made POS than the run-o-the mill HD...
-
Honda, or Kawasaki. Harley's are overpriced and European bikes are all over engineered unreliable crap.
Suzuki's are supposed to be OK but I've heard they are badly underpowered compared to the other 2.

In your opinion!
-
Yea but for the 6500 I paid for my Triumph, all Yamaha had was an anemic, soft suspension V-Twin 650!
At 6'1" and 240, I made that little Jap bike look like a toy! My Triumph was the same size as a HD Dyna Glide and a lot lighter. I'd buy another Triumph if I was in the market again. Just need to strip off all the crap the Brits have to bolt on for US pollution standards.

Not my opinion, Honda Shadow and Kawi Vulcan look just like Harleys, are the same size, and require less maintenance for about 2/3 the price
-
Actually Tom, the full size Vulcans are nearly 20K......not bad looking though!
-
Tom,
I owned the top of the line Vulcan, the Nomad, and I have ridden Road Kings - There is no comparison! HD all the way! I have ridden a Goldwing for two years now, I have ridden a Polaris, and the Ultra Classic - the only three touring bikes there are. It is a horse a peace on these. Each has its little benefits, but you can't go wrong with any of them. And when it comes to cost there is no comparison either - Toss up!
Most people that blast the top dollar bikes aren't comparing apples to apples.

+1.....
When it comes to price vs performance, the Japanese bikes win.....yes, I would have liked an HD, but money was a big concern. When I bought my Shadow Sabre in 2002, it was 1/2 the price of the closest thing HD had in physical size (Fatboy) and the HD was used. The only real difference was the size of the engine.... I gave up a couple hundred CC's for $8000....... and I could ride two-up with my 1100 engine fine. My Honda was built from Japanese parts, but the plant is in Marysville, OH. All Honda V-Twins are built in the US.....or at least they were in 2002.
-
Kawi's are built in Wisconsin
-
All well and good but this thing is just mean! I've wanted one for a while now but my wife won't leave me...
104ci (1700), 98 HP, Parallel twin that eats asphalt and concrete..... ;D

My '06 Goldwing was built in Ohio, but in '10 they moved back to Japan. Can't speak to the other lines.
