Josh needs to open his eyes to many people and their use of "guns."  I know I am not the only one who has a gun with him, either holstered or within reach, in the vehicle, on my person when I am out of the vehicle, in the office, shopping, eating, etc., readily available when at home, and also practice with on a regular basis.

I have more contact and interaction with my firearms than my motor vehicles, and I know there are millions of others out there like me.

Throw in reloading and dry fire practice, as infrequent as that might be, and it isn't even close.

Many, maybe even most, do text while driving.
Gun owners on the other hand are more sensible.

Idiot! Guns are dangerous tools. Just like cars, chainsaws, outboards and motorbikes. Should they all be banned and restricted to "licensed state approved professionals"? Please! If I'm wearing pants, odds are good I'm carrying. I'm no more a hazard to myself and others than when I get behind the wheel. Sadly, I have to have a state approved license to carry. How does this differ from my similarly state approved license to drive? Again, Idiot!

How long have I been on this board? You think I'm against CCW?
 I'm saying that if you are going to compare guns to cars, both dangerous tools, shouldn't you accept that a license to drive is no different than a license to carry? Personally, I don't feel you should need a license to carry, but assuming you do, why am I a hazard with a gun, but OK behind the wheel? That's my point.

The right to drive, although not specifically protected by and amendment as is the right to keep and bear arms, is just much an inalienable right.

I would guess the founding fathers didn't include it because they could not conceive that the licensing of the primary means of personal transportation was anything but ludicrous.

It doesn't draw much attention because the the licensing to drive is not fraught with the chance of abuse. 

But still remember:   Driving is a Right not a privilege.

As interpreted and in the late 20th century.  As recent as 1975 it was still considered a privilege that could be regulated and denied.  I blame money grubbing sharks (attorneys) putting repeat drunk drivers (murderers) back behind the wheel for this change.  Based on this, how can they us our Constitutional protections?

Works for me, santahog! I drive a 1996 Ford F-150 and a hand-me-down (from my son) 1996 Toyota Camry. That leaves me some room for guns.

Yup! I've got a 1998 F-150 and I'll drive it till one of us dies. (I'm betting it'll be me first). I love having no car payments. ;D

Not flush, just smart. Its stupid to buy a new car until the old one dies or maintence becomes too expensive. They lose value the day they leave the showroom. If you've got an old one that runs well hold onto it.

31 months older then my truck ( still have all the paper work)  a family member bought new, sold it to another, then I bought it.  Its a bronco xlt with a 351w  C6 and 4.10 axles.  I bought to tow the boat.  i used it for work for a few years.   seating for 6 adults and the only one that has a crappy seat is the person in the front middle seat do to the tranny hump and 4wd shifter.  I am about a hair under 6' and I can just about strech out in the front seat.  I  can in the back... *wink*.

My 2003 Silverado has 170k on it..... only reason I bought it was because I could no longer drive my 1994 S-10, which was a stick shift. I gave the '94 to my older son with 125k on the ticker and he drove it about 6 years and put another 125k on it and sold it to a friend. He talked to the friend the other day and he has put almost 100k on it. Still runs strong.

When I left Maine, I left it all.. One of the things I cringe about every time I think of it is having left a 69 Ford 1 Ton. It had a Rock Crusher transmission in it that was worth what I gave for the truck, back in 98, (4K). Good old "Armstrong" Power Steering.. I got the front wheels of that thing wedged between a couple of stumps not long after I got settled in up there, just carrying the cookout stuff down to the pond.. I hardly ever used it up there and I only bought it to move/pull an old Airstream (with a pet pig in it) up there in the first place.. (A little Beverly Hillbillies action going on at the time.)
After the stump incident, it wobbled so hard that I couldn't get it much past 25 on the road for fear that it would shake itself off the side of the mountain.. It could've been fixed cheaply enough. I just never got around to it.. It was a few years before I even knew I had messed it up.. Now I'm "truckless"..
I sold it for what you'd give for the rocker panels off of it. I had to go, and I didn't know it I was even coming back to the this hemisphere.. I sold a 07 Mustang and a 04 Honda Pilot, too. I was more than a little fond of all of those. (All paid for, too..)
Now I'm down to a 09 Ford.. Edge.. It looks a little like a pacer.. It's comfortable and paid for, but God help me if I ever need to replace it, cause the money is gone for good now..

I think I could've pulled GA up by the roots and dragged it up there with me with that old truck..
