Well, not a 'victory'...but a small win. Still have to fill out useless paperwork, but this should eliminate the extra $200 tax. It should quicken turnaround...if that's even a thing any longer. Guys on the ASA FB page were reporting 24-48 hour approval after submitting via kiosks in the store.
One of my neighbors just opened a new gun store three miles from my house and is approved for suppressors, so now might be the time.

Our mission to fully repeal the draconian NFA tax regime is far from over, but today we celebrate this historic step towards dismantling the unconstitutional NFA!

Two different lawsuits in the pipe. One FPC/NRA/SAF, the other FRAC/GOA/PSA. If Jamin McCallum at PSA cn get this done and get cans to-my-door in WA with no annual BATFascist jackboot in my grill and will stock something like Ruger Silent-SR or Gemtech Mist-22, he's got my first can buy.

True, but the game here was the relatively easy sells first.

Pessimistic thought of the day.

While the tax may have dropped to zero on NFA items, the    Bureaucrats  will insist that it doesn’t matter.  They must still follow all procedures.  All paper work, approval processes and stamps must be as before.  Theyll also probably try to tack on a processing fee.

It was pushed past the Parliamentarian because it was a tax, but years ago they have learned that fees can be tacked on and they can be justified to get around the constitutional complaint.

Since the fee isn't a tax, the director of the agency can put it in place by saying they are just covering the cost of conducting the background check without increasing taxes on those who don't participate.

Since it is a fee that pays for the costs of transferring the item only, it is not a tax that requires House action or can be argued as a hurdle in exercising a protected right.

Since agencies can do so much internally and under wraps it takes vigilance to hold them in check. That is why those looking to strip rights love agencies.

This is how we ended up with Obamacare.  Chief Justice Roberts said it was a fee...not a tax.  It drives me crazy how they play on words and think they are so damned cute and smart.

When you think about it, the loss of $200 tax stamp will open up the market to innovation.  For both cans and sbrs.   Why would you want to buy an inexpensive can when you have to pay say 50% of the cost in a tax stamp.   It would also make me want to try some shorter barrels on ars.  The tax is more than a lot of barrels.   Not to mention it would let you try different  muzzle devices on 14.5" barrels as they won't have to be pinned and welded.   It also would allow you to try different attachments for cans.   I have a few ars that are built from the exact same parts minus a muzzle device so I can run different cans.    It's stupid.

Also opens up home built cans for a lot less money too. Homemade suppressors are legal as long as you did the paperwork, paid the tax, and engraved the can. I know folks who could build functional cans for less then fifty bucks, but then had to pay the two hundred on top. While that is way cheap for a suppressor, fifty is cheaper now than two-fifty.
