And you guys are afraid of the government?..

So Target really means targetted.... simple marketing to be sure but does a company REALLY need that much information?  Whatever happened to mass marketing instead of directed-marketing?

In all fairness Target can't try to confiscate my guns....

But that is a little unnerving.

It's long been common knowledge that "information" equals money and/ or power.
They say the "oldest profession" is prostitution, but the 2nd oldest is the information broker who could tell where to find them.
Madison Ave. has long been more efficient about using information than Langley.
The part that offended me was the last line,

"Those people chilled by stores’ tracking and profiling them may want to consider going the way of the common criminal — and paying for far more of their purchases in cash."

I have used nothing but cash or money orders for a good decade now and I resent being called a "common criminal" for doing so.

Good point. The proper, politically correct term for folks like you is "Terrorist" now.   8)

Look at Google and Facebook. Think people are throwing billions of dollars at them because Serge and Zucks are nice guys? They ain't. They are getting the money thrown at them because they sell information. Your information. Period.
