I watched it with the sound muted.

The interview will have to be continued next week.  They started me out with a bunch of tests.  We never got to the interview part.  I guess I passed the tests (personality profile stuff), she's going to call Monday to talk to me.  This isn't the job I really want, but I haven't heard from them yet.  Fingers crossed.

I watched the video again and thought of something.  I'd bet the whole deal started with one guy, bored, goofing off showboating to the gate one day.  The next day the other side doesn't want to be shown up, mirrors it, add a few more days and bored border guards and a tradition is born.  Now it's "just what we've always done."

It may have started even earlier with tribal troops trying to out do the Brit Regulars.
Remember, while the mountain tribes, (Afghans )  may still be little more than bandits, the low land Indians have had highly developed, and disciplined military forces longer than England has.
Another thing to remember, the Hindu Indian's, and Muslim Paki's  hate each other , are at war in the Kashmir, and both developed nukes specifically for use on each other.

I think the High Stepping is both a warning of how deep political BS can get...and a demonstration of how to get through it.

Either that or it is a demonstration of how to kick a politician in the azz even when it's located on their shoulders
