apparently not in alcohol, that number isn't high enough. maybe from alcohol? or blissful escape from a nagging wife? who knows?

Seen a few pics of some monster sturgeon up in the Columbia and even in the Willamette River which I cross twice a day (ever wonder what lies beneath the bridge?  I will now! THX!!)

However, much of the south is poorly drained, while the centre is dominated by Lake Kyoga, which is also surrounded by extensive marshy areas. Uganda lies almost completely within the Nile basin. The Victoria Nile drains from the lake into Lake Kyoga and thence into Lake Albert on the Congolese border. It then runs northwards into South Sudan. One small area on the eastern edge of Uganda is drained by the Turkwel River, part of the internal drainage basin of Lake Turkana.

Hippos are still found in the rivers and lakes of Uganda, Sudan, Somalia, Kenya, northern Democratic Republic of the Congo and Ethiopia, west through Ghana to Gambia, and also in Southern Africa (Botswana, Republic of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia). A separate population exists in Tanzania and Mozambique.

Southern Uganda contains 1/2 of the largest lake in Africa, Lake Victoria!

Cuba and St. Kitts are islands surrounded by water, as are Iceland and the UK, and they have the lowest drowning rate.

I can only speak to Iceland as I lived there for a time.  The water temperature of the North Atlantic is not conducive to the swimming sports.  Hell, the temperature of the Atlantic on the coast of Maine in July and August is barely above 55 degrees. 

Have you ever heard the term "ball deep"!   ;D

On the other side of the coin, Nauru has the highest drowning rate at 23.6/100,000. 

But when you take into account the fact that there are less than 10,000 citizens of the mighty nation of Nauru, that boils down to only 2 drownings per year.  For an 8 sq mile island in the middle of the South Pacific, that's not too bad.
