I saw this elsewhere and didn't believe it until I looked it up. CAPS is the Div. of Student Life, Counselling and Psychological Services. I could make a suggestion as to who needs those services but I'll be a gentleman.

During the week of April 21-25, 2008, some IUPUI students will be participating in the Second National Empty Holster protest here on campus.*
These students are members of the Students for Concealed Carry on Campus (SCCC) and will attend classes wearing EMPTY holsters.
We are posting this information to increase awareness of this event due to our concern about the potential negative impact seeing individuals on campus with holsters may have on some individuals.
If you, or someone you know, has been a victim or witness of violent crime or been engaged in combat, it is possible that seeing holsters might trigger a memory or post-traumatic reaction.
We encourage you to take steps to be prepared for this possibility, such as:
1. practicing your grounding and coping techniques prior to this event,
2. letting a trusted classmate or staff member know of you concerns,
3. establishing a reminder system so that you will be mentally prepared as you come to campus during that time, and,
4. contacting CAPS or another mental health professional to discuss your concerns.
