I saw this elsewhere and didn't believe it until I looked it up. CAPS is the Div. of Student Life, Counselling and Psychological Services. I could make a suggestion as to who needs those services but I'll be a gentleman.

Suggested Preparations from CAPS: National Empty Holster Protest

During the week of April 21-25, 2008, some IUPUI students will be participating in the Second National Empty Holster protest here on campus.*

These students are members of the Students for Concealed Carry on Campus (SCCC) and will attend classes wearing EMPTY holsters.

We are posting this information to increase awareness of this event due to our concern about the potential negative impact seeing individuals on campus with holsters may have on some individuals.

If you, or someone you know, has been a victim or witness of violent crime or been engaged in combat, it is possible that seeing holsters might trigger a memory or post-traumatic reaction.

We encourage you to take steps to be prepared for this possibility, such as:

1. practicing your grounding and coping techniques prior to this event,
2. letting a trusted classmate or staff member know of you concerns,
3. establishing a reminder system so that you will be mentally prepared as you come to campus during that time, and,
4. contacting CAPS or another mental health professional to discuss your concerns.

*This symbolic protest is a result of state laws and campus policies that prohibit concealed weapons on college campuses in the hands of law – abiding citizens, and more specifically, concealed weapons permit holders.

Another sure sign of life in a matriarchy.

Does it ever seem to ya'll like this society is becoming gynocentric in how it wants to treat people?

Ya think?
Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom.
It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves.

You'll just "have to practice your grounding, and coping techniques" If America is turning into such a gutless, "new age" haven for refugees from reality, then they do not DESERVE the Bravery and Dedication of our Troops, and they severely NEED Islamofacists killing them in the streets.  F this, I need the Joke thread.

This is very similar to the techniques of the Soviet Union, in which if you are an independent, free-thinking person, and think or act contrary to the best interests of the state, then you are clearly deranged and must be counseled, institutionalized (for your own good, of course) and drugged because you are or may be violent.

I have thought for years that this country needs a good wake up call to get us right with ourselves. 911 happened and it was far worse than I had thought it would be but I figured OK, we're going to change directions here, and we in fact started to redirect. But then Islam became the "religion of peace" and I started looking deeper at some signal events, and I realized the jig was up, we are waaayyyy down that slippery slope and 911 only slowed us down for a bit.

What we need is a plan for when the Shumer hits the fan, like the impending economic crash "correction". Each of us needs our own, plus a communal plan wouldn't hurt.
