Remember Chiappa is the company that brought us the Ryno, the pistol no one was clamoring for. I like innovation, but you know, sometimes there is a reason that no one else is making one. This months American Rifleman featured the seven barreled Nock boarding musket, that one didn't catch on either.

I'll ask as an experienced bird hunter who happens to have a 43 year old shotgun with an IC barrel.....as in, never needed anything else!
Why the choke tubes for a defensive shotgun?

I've read that some guns pattern buckshot much better with some added choke. (don't mix in those slugs)
Don't know where it was and I'm too tired to look for it right now...I have a tee time in the am.  ;D

It won't be long until the double-barrel 1911 comes out. http://www.arsenalfirearms.com/
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. And when it does, I will be on this board with a bag of popcorn watching head's explode and mocking, laughing and smiling. Cause you know, we've achieved "perfection" with just one barrel and 17 rounds. You might require two barrels and two 8 rd mags to acieve this. ;D

Here it is.
Or rather here it isn't as the damn link doesn't work. hit the wesite though. Its worth a giggle.

I don't know if I would trust another of their products after buying the pot metal 1911 in .22 that got much better reviews then it deserved.

When I started shaving, the best razor was a Gillette two-sided, blue blade safety razor.  You replaced the blade every Monday morning and shaved for a week.  Each blade cost about a nickel.

Then, someone came along with an "injector" that gave you one edge that was sharper than the blue blade.  You replaced it every Monday and shaved for a week.  But it cost a little more--maybe $0.20 each.

Then, someone came along with the Twin-Trac--two blades in one razor that gave a "closer" shave.  They were great.  You replaced the blade each Monday and it cost a little more.  The cost?  About a buck.

Then, some bright bulb decided that three blades were better than two, and a new "disposable" razor was introduced.  It cost about twice as much as earlier versions, but it gave you another week of shaves.  The cost was around $2 - $3 per unit.

I just picked up a new 4-blade disposable razor.  They cost around $10.

And I saw an ad for a 5-blade razor for about $14.95.

I recently found my Grandpa's straight razor.  With a hone (I have his hone) and a strop (I'll need one of those) it should last as long as I do.

Point is, some things are just unnecessary advancements.

Three barrels on a shotgun?  Give me a double barrel coach gun, or a Mossberg pump, and I think I am as "state of the art" as I need to be.
