I've got a few of kens knifes...

When it comes down too it, there is not a day goes by that I don't use my pocket knife for something.   Opening something, pulling out a splinter... etc.  A knife is one of the most useful tools around.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

This was on the news the other day. If this guy didn't have a knife, the girl might be dead. I clip my Cold Steel on my pocket every day, like grabbing my keys. Knives are just tools, and are probably the most useful tools that man has ever invented. I've never cut anyone, and while I could use it to do so, I do use it all the time for simple tasks at home and work.

I forgot one day and was asked to put it in my car when I went into Disneyland. No big deal, but what was I going to do with a little knife.

I carry a Cold Steel Tanto (folding with a polymer handle for weight) and it's like my third hand. I instinctively reach for it for prying, cutting, reaching something in a crack....on and on.

One time I had one of those 5in. SpyderCo serrated thumb-holes, clipped to my back pocket when I went to court with a friend. One of the deputies spotted it and gave me a hard time as I was leaving, but he was a motor cop and we had a common interest in Beemers so he let me go with a warning.....apparently even back then (80's) it was illegal to carry a pocket knife into traffic court.

Imo, the damage has already been regarding our right to have a pocket knife. I always found the clip on my pants to be a conversation starter with people who have similar interests, and I'm reluctant to carry anything these days that singles me out from the crowd.  :(

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

Knives are like guns, you can never have to many ;D

Let me ask ya'll this.  The 2nd amendment gives us the right to KEEP and BEAR arms, not guns specifically but arms, as in weapon used to protect yourself.  I'm throwing knives in with arms here.

Yes, and bows, spears and swords.

I once worked for a Fortune 500 company, Snap-on Tools, that banned pocket knives of any type in their facilities.  Now, the real genius of this is that each plant had its own "tool crib" where you could go to get what you needed to do your job.  In these tool cribs, available free to any employee, were the same replaceable razor utility knives that were used on 9/11.  Apparently, we weren't trustworthy enough to carry a Case or Old Timer, or whatever we had paid for...but Snap-on was willing to pay for and give us the weapons used to carry out the worst attack on US soil since WWII.

Oh yes, the Snap-on catalog also carries knives and utility knives for purchase.

I no longer work there.  Darn.
