Texgun, you are only partly right. B Hore got elected by BSing about radical change, rather than doing anything "new" he has simply adopted the policies that failed for carter and filled his cabinet with long term party hacks who have been consistantly wrong for decades.

Will the RNC return to it's conservative roots ?  Will they return to Reagan's principles like the working and laid off Americans want them to, as the situation demands if we wish to avoid economic melt down and Nanny state dictatorship ?
Think about this, there 4 candidates to head the RNC, 3 of them owned 1 or more guns, guess which one got the job.  :(
Time for either a new party or another revolution.

For the first time in my voting life, I registered as an Independent. Not because the Libs swayed me with some awesome rhetoric about the future of this country, BECAUSE the party I always admired and voted for LET ME DOWN!. >:(

McCain was not my candidate, but I voted for him because he was better than what we have now.

The RINO mentality fails, just like cheap ammo...

The Dems don't capitulate, but the RINO's do, and as previously stated, get their butts handed to them every time. The lemming portion of the population that fall for this crap won't do what has been said for decades: VOTE THE BUMS OUT!.

I'm frankly sick of both parties; and I wish it wasn't so,...

Time for either a new party or another revolution.

Make no mistake about it - we would have had a financial meltdown even if McCain had been elected. The person who sits in the WH really no longer matters, as it is the nameless bureaucrats and financial elites around the world who are working together to undermine us and create their little 1-world fantasy - run by them of course. We are simply the chattel that generates more wealth for them.

That is why I say two parties, one purpose. I can't think of a single thing that the Republican party does that is conservative.

After all the begging here I held my nose and voted for McCain, NEVER AGAIN!  Run an acceptable candidate or go pound salt.

All Rinos must go or I do.  It is that simple.

I would agree in general about this the labels of conservative and liberal that we toss about are more degrees that principles.  I don't know that it is just the nameless bureaucrats but the mindless masses that all have the concept of "what can you do for me".  We all express outrage at pork barrel spending and earmarks until the project may favor us.  If we can not act by principle we are lead to act by relativism..I pick the least of two evils.  I have done a lot of "no chance of electable" third party voting in my life because I vote by principle.

I believe at a federal level it is kind of a lost cause at least in the near term.  But I believe there is much we can do at the local level and rebuild from the ground up, a revolution of enlightenment and education.

a revolution of enlightenment and education.

The opposite is to be found in the public school and university system, as long as 90% of the people go through
their indoctrination system, the battle is lost.

Well it means you need to be a little more proactive with your kids and you need to build a solid foundation early - it is the 1-8 year old phase when a good portion of our core being is instilled...hand that off (as we often do now with both parents working) and you are completely hosed.

Still once they are teens it is a challenge.  Not like you can excite them to pick up Bastiat's The Law or Rand's Atlas Shrugged for some fun summer reading.  My two sons (now 16/14) both were avid readers.  Now not really so.  The oldest has a little bit of the entitlement mentality or the it will just happen or video game expertitus.  Example, tells us on the Friday before school starts, I want to play football....ok, I am sure all the guys that just finished a couple of weeks of two-a-days will really like that.  I think he figured, I am a pretty great Dback on Madden 09, I got this covered.  As we all banter topics in on the wonderous web, this is where kids live their lives...in a virtual bubble.

So by shades and degrees we (the general citizenry) give up a little here and there and work our way along giving up freedoms because just like "why do you need that assault weapon" they think "why do I really need that right anymore"
