Reminds me of a story one of the firearms instructors from my sportsman club told us.  While serving in Korea one of the guys in his unit put some deisel fuel in a helmet to clean his .45.  The guy took the mag out and swished the .45 around in the diesel, wiped if off with a rag and put the magazine back in.  He pointed it down at the helmet and pulled the trigger.  Bang, he had never cleared the chamber. The bullet followed the contour of the helmet,came back at him, and grazed the his ear.  When he reported to the medic he made up a story that he had been observing the enemy when an artillary shell went off near him and he was hit by shrapnel.  The instructor said the worse part about the whole thing was watching the guy get a purple heart for being "wounded".

Well, he WAS wounded. It just seems he deserves a purple ass (from all the kicking) more than a purple heart, but hey, God watches over fools and drunks.

The only time I feel a need for such a product is when I let the slide slam home on a newly inserted magazine for loading.

I keep the muzzle pointed in a "harmless" direction...but into the floor of the room or into the wall at the far end of the basement is not desirable. 

This is the only time I take action that might cause a discharge ..not likely, but it is part of the firing sequence of the pistol.

All other times I have enough sense to be sure the weapon is unloaded ...but still pointed in a "safe" direction.


At that price, however, I'll patch a hole in the floor if that ever becomes necessary.

I am wondering where discipline and firearms safety took a blind side? I may be losing out on a lucrative money making scheme here and it pisses me off. 

They seem to have went the same way as morals, scruples, and responsibility for ones actions in society.

To safely discharge weapon follow these instructions:

#1.  Point weapon in the direction of the nearest politician.
