$500-$950    I've seen cops shoot.......what do they do when they miss?

One of the shops I frequented used a 5 gallon bucket filled with sand with another 5 gallon bucket on top with a hole in the bottom to shoot through. Seems much more economical.

What!?  Clearing guns?  Keep you fat snausages of the trigger.  If you have the presents of mind to remember to use this device, surely you can remember one of the four rules of firearms safety.  There are only four of them.  Maybe if they feared some kind of mechanical failure that could lead to a misfire.  They should just have a weapon clearing station, its just a corner with a sign that says

'Read this sign before clearing weapon.'

'Take you finger off the trigger!'

'And point weapon is a non inhabited direction.'

Maybe its just my youthful idealism that fails me on this one.

Reminds me of a story one of the firearms instructors from my sportsman club told us.  While serving in Korea one of the guys in his unit put some deisel fuel in a helmet to clean his .45.  The guy took the mag out and swished the .45 around in the diesel, wiped if off with a rag and put the magazine back in.  He pointed it down at the helmet and pulled the trigger.  Bang, he had never cleared the chamber. The bullet followed the contour of the helmet,came back at him, and grazed the his ear.  When he reported to the medic he made up a story that he had been observing the enemy when an artillary shell went off near him and he was hit by shrapnel.  The instructor said the worse part about the whole thing was watching the guy get a purple heart for being "wounded".
