I don't know who thinks up the scenarios and demonstrations put on by these program hosts, but I'm never disappointed. A case in point happened on the show yesterday. Most of the competing shows go through houses firing on the bad guys. Yesterday, they showed how the most popular caliber pistols fared against a bookcase and a few books.
Wow! Who would have thought that a 9mm round would penetrate better than all the others. I still love my .45, because it has proven itself over time from the first during the wars. I won't discount my 9mm again.
The point made by Michael at the end of the program about a longer slide and shorter grip for a concealed carry weapon was well put as well. I thought when I first began shooting pistols that the full length grip was necessary for a good shot. That was before I got my Taurus PT745. It has a short grip and smaller grip for that matter for shorter fingers (mine). It is highly controllable and very accurate. I think the fact that it's using the .45 acp round that pushes rather than kicking up as many other calibers do makes a big difference.
Anyway, I got windy, but needed to extend some praise where due. I hope everyone has a great week!
Dave
