Of course this might lead to a very dissapointed thief discovering a cheap rifle rather than the expensive guitar he was hoping for. ;D

actually I'd think the gun is worth more to a crimal then a 6 string.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

It's an AK...  Put the thing in a duffle bag with a towel in the bottom.  No AK is all that long, if you really care about being sneaky with it put a folding stock on it and it'll fit in any medium size kids backpack.

Either way you'll have room for half a dozen mag's and your lunch along with the rifle.

MB was talking about a rifle case made to look like a guitar case about a month ago.  Can't remember the maker, but I was thinking about getting one

Its fairly easy to alter an instrument case to accommodate a long arm. An old guitar or other case thats beat up is pretty discreet.

I keep thinking about making something from a 'bat bag' - y'know soft ball or baseball suitably fitted out inside for my 16"AR - I know tennis bags wont work unless you have a folding stock.

If it has a folding stock, a tennis racket case might work.  A folding stock M1 Carbine (folded) fits in a single racket case, while a double racket case has better support for the weight and more room for accessories.

I have the LWRCI case, and used it a few weeks ago.  I had two rifles I was taking through a busy public place, one in the guitar case and one in a standard rifle case.  I actually made two trips so I could use the guitar case twice as no one gave it a second look.  On the way out I stuffed both into the LWRCI case.  It zipped closed, but is's designed for one.
