Ah, Coop.   I think (as do numerous pundits) that you've hit the nail on the head.   Given the realities of trying to implement the various aspects of Obama's policies, gun control is the easiest one to pass.   It's easy because the details are somewhat simple.  No new agency is needed and no new funding is involved.   Given the current congress, this will be an easy pass and then HE can tout how much progress is being made by his administration.   It will cause great "hue and cry" from us and the MSM will dutifully print many column yards of type about it, with the  added benefit of taking attention away from the lack of progress on the other issues.
