Its been 20 years since I dated an Aussie, and I still wish I'd taken her up on her offer and followed her back to Canberra. Sad but true. I let an ROTC contract stand in the way. Two decades and many women later I still say once you go Aussie, you'll accept no substitutes. :-\

Sounds like more law abiding Aussie's are getting a little fed up with the "gov't" dictating what's best for the citizenry regarding firearms ownership.

Time to tell them, and our lame ass anti gun contingent as well, to MTFU.

The English have gone over the edge, most of Europe as well. There are non stop attempts to get the mandatory rifles OUT of Swiss homes.

Go get those camels,.. wish I could bring my Mauser over, if a 30-30 to the head works, I have one also...

We have some controlled Buffalo farms, and the meat is excellent. Never tried camel though, little BBQ sauce and steaks, perhaps a good Aussie beer, sounds like a great time.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

they do capture some  mostly on the eastern side of the country   however you can not imagine how many are up there

there are hundreds of thousands up there   just like a lot of the other feral animals   they have gotten out of control

you name it   they are an issue
it is really the native animals ( apart from Roos ) that are an issue for numbers  and they are the ones that need protecting
Seems to me if they don't belong, they are feral and they are hurting native species, the order of the day should be blast away. It's a job that's just too big to handle.

We are having major problems with feral hogs in Texas. The population is too large and they breed too fast. Control efforts are failing. Here is some of todays news on the subject:

Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web they are not.

Texas’ feral hogs can be rabid predators, and they are carving paths of destruction across much of the state. Central Texas is not immune.

With an estimated population of 3 to 4 million in Texas, feral hogs mow down crops and kill deer fawns and goat kids. They are even known to attack people.

A feral hog runs across desert scrub on a ranch near Mertzon, southwest of San Angelo. The hogs are prolific breeders, and female hogs can give birth to as many as 13 offspring in a single litter. (Eric Gay photo / Associated Press, file)

Kyle Lange searches for feral hogs by helicopter Feb. 18 near Mertzon, Texas. Feral hogs are a problem for farmers and ranchers statewide as they eat or damage crops, root up pastures and even attack other animals or people. (Eric Gay photo / Associated Press, file)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

“Feral hogs are a problem in just about every county in the state,” said Texas Farm Bureau spokesman Gene Hall. “Those things can do more damage than a bulldozer.”

“What country can preserve its liberties if its rulers are not warned from time to time that the people preserve the spirit of resistance?”

Thomas Jefferson, 1787
