they do capture some mostly on the eastern side of the country however you can not imagine how many are up there
there are hundreds of thousands up there just like a lot of the other feral animals they have gotten out of control
you name it they are an issue
it is really the native animals ( apart from Roos ) that are an issue for numbers and they are the ones that need protecting
Seems to me if they don't belong, they are feral and they are hurting native species, the order of the day should be blast away. It's a job that's just too big to handle.
We are having major problems with feral hogs in Texas. The population is too large and they breed too fast. Control efforts are failing. Here is some of todays news on the subject:

Texas’ feral hogs can be rabid predators, and they are carving paths of destruction across much of the state. Central Texas is not immune.
With an estimated population of 3 to 4 million in Texas, feral hogs mow down crops and kill deer fawns and goat kids. They are even known to attack people.

“Feral hogs are a problem in just about every county in the state,” said Texas Farm Bureau spokesman Gene Hall. “Those things can do more damage than a bulldozer.”
