? for those living in early voting states
« on: December 07, 2007, 07:31:12 PM »
With the election starting in less than a month it's becoming clear Fred isn't in the running in IA an NH. Those of you who live there can you tell the forum who gun owners are supporting? I'm guessing it may be Huckabee?

Who are gun owners supporting in MI and SC? Fred continues to slip in SC so again I'm guessing Huckabee may be gaining support?

The national polls show Huckabee gaining at Fred's expense so I would assume some gun owners who fromerly supported Fred have switched.

I'm supporting Ron Paul.  Yes, he's pro-gun, but he is also for small government (really... not just the Republican catch-phrase), individual rights, and less socialist programs.

If Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination, I hope Huckabee does.  Under no circumstance will I support Giuliani or Romney.

BTW, I live in New Hampshire.

Do you mean then that you will not cast a vote in November 2008 unless Paul or Huckabee get the Republican nomination?

Most people I know in the Laconia NH area are unhappy with Huckabee as he seems soft on Illegal Aliens and Taxes, Dr. Paul has good Ideas ( except on Iraq although I understand and respect his position I don't agree) but no personality. I'm pushing Fred to everyone I know.

I'm from Michigan. I am still wondering who to vote for. We will see what happens in IA and my other home NH.
I like Fred and Duncan, but I doubt either one will make it.
Rest assured that I will vote on the 15th and in November. And, given the Dims candidates general positions I most probably will not vote for them this time.

I'm from MI and will vote for Fred ion the 15th.  If Thompson or Huckabee don't make it this will be the first year I don't vote for Pres.  Hillery is the only Dem on the ballot here so if the outcome were say Hillery vs Romney there would be no difference, either would sign a new AWB.  I think its time to push for a pro gun congress.

Fly320's I live in Laconia and I'm looking at Huckabee, He seems to have some pretty sound Ideas and a MUCH better chance than Ron Paul. ( I googled his name for the website)  I'll admit he's  alittle heavy on religion , but we all vote based on our beliefs and who cares how he got to his opinion as long as it's in line with our opinion. The only other differance I see between the two of them, is Iraq, I under stand that Dr. Paul is going with the no entangling alliances idea but I don't think that is practicle when so many of our companies are multinational.

I live in Colorado and will caucus for Ron Paul on Feb 5. The only true Republicans running for the nomination are Paul and Thompson, but Fred has failed to deliver on fundraising or poll numbers. Despite much better name recognition he was only a few points ahead of Paul in Iowa. Paul can win, if you vote your conscience.

For those considering Huckabee, consider this: http://www.opinionjournal.com/taste/?id=110011082

"As governor, he championed the ARKids First, which extended free health insurance not only to children of the working poor but to some lower middle-class families. He pleased teachers unions with his consistent opposition to school choice and voucher programs. He satisfied labor by signing into law a minimum-wage hike of 21%. 'Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me'--Mr. Huckabee's oft-cited scriptural justification for growing government--proved costly for Arkansans, who saw government spending double and their taxes rise about a half-billion dollars during his tenure."
