AR front sight
« on: December 06, 2009, 09:39:20 PM »
I have been playing around with my DPMS AR. It shoots scarily good with an eotech (sub MOA with range ammo at 100 yards benched, 2 MOA seated ,with me pulling the trigger good, which speaks volumes for the rifle and sight).Thing is I have been heming and hawing over buis for the flat top. One question I never asked, is there a standard A-2 front sight that can just be bolted on? I haven't found one. I ask this mostly out of curiousity, but I would like to kow. Does such a creature exist, and if so, is it worth buying?

I have never seen one.  The A2's I have seen are all pinned on or rail mounted.  I don't recall your set-up, but if you have a rail on your gas block why don't you look into one that goes on that.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

Thats the plan. I just don't want to spend $70 for a flip up iron sight I will hopefully never use, if I can avoid it. Cheap I know, and I wil drop the cash if I have to, just looking for a more economical alernative.

Several companies offer bolt on A2 style front sights.  LMT offers one of the nicest.

Rock River has one for rail mounting for I think $40.00

I think you can get free shiping on orders over $25.00 if they still have that offer on their home page.
