New look for the new AR in the herd
« on: December 11, 2009, 04:45:37 PM »
Posted a couple of weeks ago about a new, lightweight 18" AR build I did

http://www.downrange.tv/forum/index.php?topic=10077.0

I really wanted a different front sight and a smooth forearm.  I've been in Brazil on business for the last week...flight got into bitter O'Hare at 6 am this morning and when I walked in the house the Big Brown Truck of Happiness had left a package from Midway.

Swapped out parts and now she looks like this

Doesn't look that different from far away, but now I have a nice smooth YHM free float forearm with rails only where I need it.

The front gas block/flip up sight was switched out to a rounded hood style...no reason other than I like the way they look.  Also from YHM

Wow...the AR and AR-derivative herd is getting big.  Funny how buying just one about 7-8 years ago grows to this.

BOHICA with a "Peace" sticker,.....That's fantastic man,.. ;D

Quite the group. What do you and billt have against us ? ;)

Like the traditional look of the third one down, and your new addition.  Really sweet.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Thanks...that is this sticker from "Life Liberty Etc"

The 3rd one down is based on a DCM match upper built by John Hollinger at White Oak Armament (NRA Highpower champion caliber shooter).  RRA lower with a 2-stage match trigger.  Scary accurate rifle.

I like the new one too...thanks.

Just waiting to decide on what kind of flip up front sight to install and we'll be on to a new build from the ground up. Probably in .308 but I love shooting .223 so we'll see.
