250 lbs?  I think my TV weighs more than that.  Bolt that one down in the bedroom.  When you outgrow it, it can stay there as the bedroom gunlocker with the "collectibles" in the big one in the basement.

Somebody tried to GIVE me a security firedoor one time and I was stupid enough to pass it up.  I could have a WALK IN saferoom for the cost of a couple concrete walls in my basement.  STUPID.

Yea I'd agree with that!!! ;D

You'll find out who your friends really are when you ask for volunteers to get that beast up the stairs.   ;D

Speaking from experience Eric, a mover is cheaper than a doctor. During hurricane Jean, I put up storm shutters at my grand dad's, my great aunts and my moms house. All in 90 degree heat. At the end, I had a heat stroke and took a header off a ladder with a piece of 5/8" plywood. I suffered siezures and my back is still screwed up. Hire someone. Take that $100 you saved to do it and consider it money well spent.

It took me and a buddy to hand carry mine empty up to a second story bed room! I can be done by yourself with a hand cart. I've done that to but only up and down a couple of stairs on the porch.

Get a buddy to help you. Why take a chance on hurting yourself or damaging your house? I helped a buddy move in a 600 lb safe last week and there were 4 of us. It was still a job.

I bought a "28 gun" safe. moved it with a regular hand truck. Wasn't too bad but I didn't have any stairs.  ;)

What sucks is that it was already too small when I brought it in the house, I still need another one. I will not go any bigger, however. Get too big and they become too much of a PIA to move or get things out of. It is amazing how the gun you want to shoot is always in the back of the safe.

The one I got now weights a little over 1200lbs cost me $200 to have it delivered and installed where I wanted it by you very big guys (arms bigger around than my leg) was worth every penny and when I move I'm going to call them back to move it again!! ;D
