Scopes
« on: December 18, 2009, 03:00:57 PM »
Okay, I have a stupid question for everyone.   What scopes are people putting on ARs?   Are most people using the EOTECH or something similar?  Red dots?  Trijicon?   Most of the shooting I do is say, 50 yards to about 200 yards, even though the range goes out to 600 yards, but I highly doubt I will ever have to shoot anything that far.   Thanks for your help.

Aim point and Eotech seem to be the favorites based on what folks are posting about.
I don't think I have seen any one posting about using Trijicon.
As for stupid questions, those are the ones you don't ask and then get bit by  ;D
Welcome to the forum and thanks for giving us something new to argue about  ;D

I have a varmint upper and put a Leupold 3-12x VX on mine.    Metallic sights on my "national match" upper.  If I had a third upper in a tactical configuration, I would probably get a good holographic.  Eotech and Trijicon are a little expensive for me though.

Along similar lines, my Camp 9 is outfitted with an older Aimpoint 1000, red dot.

I have a 3-9x scope on one and iron sights on the other.

I just mounted a Burris AR-332 on mine, and I love it! I was leaning towards an aimpoint, but was hesitant because I didn't want a scope that RELIED on batteries to work. Good quality for 399.00. Took 10 months to finally get it, but they are in stock now.

I had the same worry but they tell these new "heavy metal" batteries last 8 years .
