Need a Concealment Holster for S&W Model 10
« on: December 20, 2009, 03:11:30 AM »
I want to buy a holster for my dad's birthday. He has an old S&W model 10 revolver. He rarely carries it partly I think because he doesn't have a quality concealment holster for it. It's still wearing the same leather my Grand Dad carried it in and I can't get him to upgrade to a modern simi-auto.  :-[

I looked at the crossbreed web site and they don't seam to have a holster for K frame S&W. I also went to the Tucker website they do have a good holster but before I spend a $100, I want to see if any of you have some other suggestions that I'm not aware of and should consider.

He lives in Florida so I think it needs to be a IWB model, as you can't open carry in Florida.

You can go to my website and see the gun, it's pictured on my home page @ www.guns-r-us.net

Any help would be appreciated! :)

The Uncle Mike's IWB holsters are pretty good and comfortable. They're no beautiful leather that swell you up with pride, but they work and they're relatively comfortable. Usually 13 - 15 bucks and you just replace them as they wear out. I just bought a couple of new ones to replace a couple that I'd had for 15 years. It seems like they work best for appendix carry and as with any IWB, proper care is needed for every day tasks like dropping trow at a public stall.

The Galco IWB's are pretty simple too. You could always go super simple and get something along the lines of a Galco or other brand fanny pack.

I have a MIlt Sparks summer special for my 4" N frame. Carries very well, but could not find that option on his website, maybe better to call him.

Not to get too far off topic, but the S&W model 10 was my first handgun.  I bought it brand new from Wal-Mart when I was 16 (Dad signed for it)  I had saved up for a year to get it.  Still my favorite gun in the collection.
