I have no issues with the .327 calibre as such, more so in what theyre offering it in. Not having it in a longer barrel length in a gp100 configuration seems a little crazy for me at least, when they are offering it in a S/A blackhawk. There is a reason that revolver evolved, not every one likes loading one in the gate at a time, extracting spent shells etc etc
Had the choice been available for a 6" gp100 (8 shot like the BH) I would have placed an order today.
Another issue for me at least is the availability of ammo, cases, reloading dies and projectiles given where I am situated, I suppose it will filter through eventually but given how anal the US is about send stuff to the land of Oz I can just imagine the pain in trying to get such items.
Then in saying all of that I am one little aussie guy representing sweet bugger all of rugers intended market so what i think is not that relevent in the scheme of things.
I wish them good luck.

Had a chance to handle an XDM 3.8 and to say that I was underwhelmed is an understatement.  I hope the SR9c is better!  I should add that I like the full size XDM better than the SR9.

PS:  I don't believe you can compare the SR9c to the G26 because one is a subcompact and the other is a compact.  We need to wait for the SR9sc!  And an XDMsc.

They are in the same market segment, and their measurements are nearly identical -- or close enough anyway.

I would imagine that the entire fullsize/compact/subcompact designations are done by the company and are based on if they offer all three sizes or not (perhaps this is a sign that there will be no mid sized SR9). Sometimes companies often just designate these smaller versions of their full size brethren as concealed carry models and just forgo the entire compact/subcompact thing all together.

yawn...

smaller sr9, some one will buy if they keep the price down.

327...  all hype.  other then "hey check this out" it really does not fill any niches.  there is nothing it can do that a 38/ 38+p or 357 can't do better.   Only time will tell if its still going to be around in the next 10-15 years or will it be basicly a oddity.  we all know the 38/357 will still be here and going strong.

just finished watching the SR9c video on DRTV and I am not in the opinion of the Majority of yall. That is a great idea and awesome response to the customer request. Here in MA, once compliant, it will be a great seller and great addition to the safe. Fantastic for off-body carry. Great two gun set full size for competition and compact for PD. Homerun even if you are disappointed it is not an AK. (Would like that to be unveiled at SHOT please!) As for the two revolvers, good choice also. When competing in SA revolver  bulleye , I looked high and low for a 32 blackhawk would love the versitility of any rimmed 32 to boot. With the DA 327 it is a perfect choice for weaker shooters due to genetics, gender, age, life style or lack of effort/laziness. Hope the Pink-camo CT lazer grips come soon, for my wife (peanut gallery).  All in all glad to see it but I have realized that more and more people complain about winning the lottery. " awwwwe man now I have to pay the taxes!"

I am glad Ruger want to give time and product to the customer needs and wants. Also an upper For the AR in 300 or 338 RCM or 375 Ruger would be balls man. I can want the impossible also.  ;D

I'm gonna say an expansion of the SR9 line.  A compact model...maybe models in .40 or .45.... .380?  ..............

Partially right.  The .327 slipped up on me.  I still think they should produce a 50 BMG .

Sometimes I think people get confused over why gun companies build guns, which is to make money. The Blackhawk in .327 has the potential to be a marvelous small game/"packing pistol," to borrow a phrase from my friend John Taffin. As far as who'll buy one, I will — and the SA master gunsmiths have been working overtime on .327 conversions on the Blackhawk pattern, so someone wants them. Before that, they were working overtime on 32/20 full-sized Blackhawk conversion.

And before there's a mass "RUGER IS DEAD" orgasm here, I might suggest you look at their stock prices...

Demand, Demand, Demand...

And, I've been looking for something unique in a new revolver, and an SA in .327 just might be the thing.

I was hoping to see a normal size 44frame with a factory 5shot 500S&W or 460S&W blackhawk with 3",4",5" barrels. I have shot a few custom Ruger's in 475 and 500 Linbaugh and know the Rugers would stand up to the pressures! But once again I am reminded that there is one more Michael Bane has not told us about.!?.!?   8)

The .327 Federal Magnum is not for everyone.  Neither is the .357, the .44mag., .25 auto, 416 Rigby, the 12 gauge, or the .410. or any particular cartridge.
The way I look at this is that Federal in partnership with Ruger teamed up to market a modern .32-20.  The .32-20 is a good round.  What factory loads there are for it are loaded down in deference to old weak revolvers. At one time Ammo makers offered a much hotter load for it.  It is a great turkey round and I imagine it would play heck on the coyotes as well.  I expect the .327 mag to equal or exceed the .32-20 in performance.
To those that say "what can it do that a .38/.357 can't do" or what ever cartridge you want to name, I say so what.  You can say that about any cartridge.
Will it sell?  Time will tell.
My ideal SA .327 from Ruger would be a blued steel 5-6 inch barreled small framed flat top with a convertible cylinder in .32-20 with a Bisley grip frame dressed in walnut stocks.  A lever action rifle to go with it would be nice too.
I guess that is what custom gunsmiths are for.
