Poll

What Describes Chris Dodd's Retirement Announcement Best?

A rat leaving a sinking ship.
A thief who's got his loot bag full and he's sliping out of town.
He can now sit on his laurels, collect his sweet Senate pension in his mansion and reflect on how he's done so much for the little guy....
The nation weeps for the loss of his patriotic leadership of our economy and banking system.

Who ever said he would retire there?

Dorgan in ND is quitting too. Too bad we don't have any real Constitutionalists to run in his place. Some are even proposing that Pomeroy (our sole D representative) run in his place. Pomeroy is A from the NRA (not sure what that means anymore), but has voted pretty much party line on everything else.

Mandatatory term limits for congressmen? I don't think the founding fathers ever expected anyone would ever WANT to be in Congress for thirty years.

I didn't vote in your poll.   ;D

I kind of think of Dodd as ballast.

Do you remember those movies of the shot up B-17's returning back to England and having to throw everything overboard like their Ma Deuces and its ammo just so they could make it up over the cliffs of Dover?

Yeah, I kind of think of it like that.

The DNC is cutting loose their dead weight.

Ha ha he he!   ;D

He's probably gonna flee the country to avoid prosecution. Dodd is a slime ball politician in every sense of the word.... good riddance!

Dodd.

Slime ball.

Politician.

Aren't those synonyms?

For the poll, the first three seem about right.

He's a rat.
He's got his loot, pension, etc,....
If he were to run again, his own "deals", would be exposed. Plus the Left in-fighting, and throwing themselves on the sword, under the bus, etc,.. is fun to watch

Hope CT, doesn't elect another face with the same playbook as Dodd.
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
