Florida Leather
« on: January 07, 2010, 06:45:51 PM »
A wonderderful thing happened tonight. I actually got to wear a leather jacket for the first time ever. Understand, when I was in college in DC in the '80s, I wanted that Indiana Jones bomber jacket so bad I could taste it.I just couldn't afford one. I moved to Austin, and still wanted it, but was old enough not to buy a jacket that I could justify 10 nights a year, and the rest of the time just wear to be "cool" while sweating on a 65 degree night in a crowded 80 degree night club. I move to Indiana, still want one, but now I have student loans, would rather spend the 3 bills on a gun and its too cold ( >:() to make one practical. Two years ago, back in Fl. I find a nice brown Italian one, $300 Nodstroms price tag, $42 at SAM's. What the hell, how do you say no? Finally, after two years of it hanging in the closet because it never got cold enough, and 20 years of wanting to wear one, it was cool enough. All in all, I'd rather have dropped the cash on a box of good SD ammo, but, it was good while it lasted. ;D
FQ13 who is thoroughly amused and reminded why he buys $300 fishing rods and clothes shops at Wally World

Congrats FQ, it has been "cold" enough for a nice jacket. Hell, I put jeans on for the first time in a year, two days ago.

Now don't be shy about the 'Members Only" jacket still in your closet also,.... ;)

P.S I have a light Columbia jacket I put on yesterday, and forgot how wardrobe can really compliment concealed carry. Shorts and a T-shirt can be limiting for sure.

OBTW, the northern members will be throwing jabs here real soon in their -20 below or colder, winter wonderland,... ::)

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Nope, it was about 35 today, quite nice actually.  It was Pathfinder, M58, Rastus and TT that are freezing their wrinkleberries off in -40 wind...

Nothing would ever get me to move to FL again.  One year was quite enough for me and that was during the Carter administration!

Make sure you email Al Gore and tell him thanks for the turn in the weather. ::) I'm sure he invented that too.  ;D

It's just too stupid to comment coherently. The wind stopped two days ago and my nuts STILL haven't dropped back down again. We're probably wearing leather coats like yours as SHIRTS right now.
I got the blues as my companion.

I've got the window open as it's been in the 20's and 30's.
