Gun Registration Starting?
« on: January 15, 2010, 03:09:19 PM »
I got an email saying HR45 Blair Holt act and SB2009 (?) are technically before congress still HR45 according to snopes was introduced yesterday will require registration of all semi autos with detachable magazines, proof of training, storage away form children under 18 etc, the senate bill requires reporting on income taxes and $50 tax for each weapon owned and of course with both, failure to comply will make you a criminal with some stiff penalties. Has anyone else heard about this being resureccted, My thinking is guncontrol schemes will be attached to the health care bill as last minute pork.

This again? "Its dead Jim, I'm a doctorer, not a miracle worker". Lets assume it was to be voted on tommorow in the House. It would die a flaming death, with Harry (Please Let Me Keep My Seat, see, I've got an A rating from the NRA) Reid leading the charge to ensure it never saw daylight in the Senate.

a good rule of thumb is that if you got it in an email with a bunch of other addressee's at the top, it = spam.

Spam means we already saw it...like ....what?  2 years ago....

Ergo, spam email = doing a search first before posting.

I know that at least I would appreciate that.  Thanks.

It was introduced A YEAR AGO and even the people who introduced were not going to vote for it. but it got onto the internet and so it will never go away, 100 years from now some one will make a breathless post about "They going to tax us $50 per gun on our IRS forms and Snopes says it's true.
The fact is, it really was introduced and if Snopes were going to be honest they would say that it never had a prayer of going anywhere, it never even went to Committee.
