Statehouse rumor concerning assault weapons and CCW

I just had an interesting phone conversation with a person of power
(sorry about the vagueness) and he wanted my input on an interesting
proposal being bandied about the backrooms of the Nebraska State Legislature.

It involves banning assault weapons in return for almost complete CCW rights.

I'd love all of your input on this. Sorry to send you to the blog, but
I'm doing this from work and only have time to explain this once.
Please pass this information along to whomever you think would like to
weigh in.

+1 (though I may have said it a little less bluntly ).  NEVER throw your brothers to the dogs to save your own skin.  It's the old adage "We must hang together for we will surely hang separately".

Sorry if you know or are friendly with this "person of power" but I have never believed one single word I've heard coming from a steaming pile of crap...and all politicians are just that. The next bonehead that gets elected won't remember the deal that these boneheads made.

Assault weapons are class 3 fully auto weapons. Ban all you want. if these knee jerk jackasses think a SKS or a semi anything is an assault weapon, ask them to hit the beach with one or drop into a hot LZ. IDIOTS

I pretty much echo the overall sentiments.  If they are so bold as to open up CCW, then take them to the mat and do that, and do NOT TOUCH anything else.

PS I always love when they say "miltary style weapon"   please tell me, which modern sporting guns have or still used by miltarys around the world...  Fact is there is not one gun on the market today that can not trace its "roots" back to a miltary arm.
