Well, it was that or a huge lawsuit win for the kid.

Almost a shame.  I'd love to have seen the kid get to be a millionaire with cash from the dumb a$$es that harassed him.  The entire community would have suffered from the loss of the millions of dollars, and maybe, just maybe a few of them would have learned to keep their noses to themselves next time and not look to cause trouble for others.

Good first step toward correcting an error.  Now how do they make up for everything the student has been put through, the mark next to his name in the legal system, and the notes in his school record?

Considering the unconstitutionality of the search and the violations to his civil rights as well as the harassment and costs the family must have incurred for legal counsel and the like I'm sure there will still be some problems for the school and the city. Provided he didn't have to waive the right to sue in order to go back to school.

I'm sure this decision by the Board was reached on the advice of "counsel"....

He should have his record cleared, a written letter of apology, all legal costs reimbursed, and a letter of recommendation by the School Board to West Point, where he applied.

They just have to keep learning the hard way,......

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Thats not shocking at all.   The deal about him parking off campus and them having to use a dog was a joke.
