Wilson Combat Elite Tactical Magazines Report
« on: December 23, 2007, 01:19:15 PM »
Curious on some feedback from people who have given the new 8 round Wilson Combat Elite Tactical Magazines a try.  I've got several with over a thousand rounds through them (all loaded with 8 rounds) and have yet to have a single FTF.  Any others experiencing the same level of reliability in their 1911s as it appears to be a great mag.  I just switched over to these magazines for carry purposes.  They seat very easily and are easier to load as well than a traditional 7 round 1911 magazine.  It's nice to have an 8 rounder with reliability and nine rounds of 45 ACP to protect you.

Here's a video clip on the ETM......... http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/GunTech/NewsletterArchive.aspx?x=v&p=0&t=1&i=827

Michael, how are you finding your ETMs?  I know your initial report was quite satisfactory.

I put a bunch of rounds through ones at Wilson's when we were up there, and I have shifted the ETM's I got into the "take it to the range bag." To date, they've worked exactly as billed in half-a-dozen 1911s, from the Rock Island cheapie to the C&S full-house custom. In truth this hellish December has put a crimp in my range time. I've talked to several "gunnies" about them, and all report 100% percent.

My intent is to replace my current .45 1911 magazine "stash" to all new ETMs by the end of 2008...

Hey that's great Michael...thanks so much.  I have yet to experience a single issue with three of the ETMs that I have purchased, so my intent is the same as yours as far as using these exclusively and building up to about a dozen of these mags.  I've already changed over to the ETMs for carry in my Nighthawk.  I appreciate your input and have a wonderful New Year...looking forward to your new Shooting Gallery episodes in 2008.

Michael-
Ok here is the question for me. I have a Wilson Combat 40% off certificate I won at an IDPA match in 2004. I have about 20 Wilson 8 round magazines that I would need to replace. Do I cash this in now or wait a few months to see if they need to make changes?

Well, still going strong with the my Wilson ETMs and still not one hiccup.  Anyone else having similar experiences or any problems to report.  Really a great magazine so far.

My original Wilsons (20+ years old) converted to 8 rounders work every time.  Why spend the money when I don't have to?

I bought two of them and they are both difficult to get seated in the well.  Anybody have similar story ?  Ron
