I'm surprised they haven't already.  You can always look to Sig for a Mustang style .380.

If I wouldn't have bought that 6.8 upper, then I might have bought a Sig 238.  Back when I was in college I was going to buy a Mustang but Colt discontinued them and over night the price on one at a local gun shop shot up by $300.

My father bought one in the early 90's and it has been fired maybe 1/2 a box worth since than. I posted his visit last November and brought it out of the case and it was dry as a bone, and I scolded him for not getting more fondle and maint. time. I stripped it oiled the heck out of it, and put some "fresh" ammo in it for him.

Doesn't carry with one in the chamber, and never really was a "gun" guy, seems that skipped a generation to me.

I'm ending up with that "almost never used" Colt Mustang one day, but am surprised/relieved that Colt hasn't "jumped" on the 380 bandwagon.

Sure I'd love to see more of them out there, price point?, $600-900? Always liked them.

Before anyone drops the coin on a Sig P238, you might want to read the American Rifleman's review on .380 pocket pistol this month.  Sig has some "issues" with malfunctions.  Actually, they all did with the exception of the Rohrbaugh but a 1000 bucks, you'd expect that.  I expected better from Sig and they already have listed a recall or "mandatory" repair as they called it.

Yea, upgrade....still, for 500 bucks I'd expect more.  I'd buy the G26, G27 or G36 first for 100 bucks less.  Just need bigger pockets....

I don't think that Colt knows what they want to do with their civilian lines. Timing would be good for a new and improved Mustang and even better to bring back the Detective Special at a decent price. I sure missed the boat on a Python.

you know I don't really see the draw of .380.  Even before ammo went crazy, it was never cheap, it was hard to find... etc

I doubt it...I carried a Mustang (overhauled by the old Scott,. MacDougal gunsmiths) as my pocket pistol for years. It wouldn't run worth a crap until it was tweaked. Not surprised the 238 has similar problems. Still, it always worried me to have a cocked-and-locked pistol that close to Mr. Weasel...I usually carried it in an Ahern rough out pocket holster. With so many better DA only options (both semi and revolver), that's the way I go now...although I'll never let the little Mustang go.

I'll give the new S&W Bodyguard .380 credit for decent sights — rare on a pocket pistol. I like the integrated laser, but I'm spoiled by CT's "instinctive activation" feature (which is patented, explaining the button systems on the new Smiths).
