GEITHNER---HOUSE OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE QUESTIONING
« on: January 27, 2010, 12:42:06 PM »
Interesting why Goldman stockholders were kept whole dollar for dollar, Bear Stearns 2 cents on a dollar, GM pennies on a dollar, etc.   A consideration is that AIG may have been a pass through for Goldman.  Testimony from Geithner and Paulson confirms the AIG insurance companies were well funded and whole...it was the parent holding company that was sick.  So what's up here...the companies that were owned by the parent were good to go and were collateral for the parent company's foolish forays.  Why keep the rich people from losing money and let us pick up the tab to do it?  The insurance companies that cover you and I could have been moved to the people who loaned the money as the collateral they were; since as regulated entities they were fiscally OK.  It was the speculators who lost money who were funded by the FED and government.

This is a good show to watch if you can...I'm home with food poisoning enjoying the show.

If the situation is as you describe it. They need to hang everyone from both administrations that was within a hundred miles of it  and RICO every penny of profit. This should be put into buying back T-bills to redeem the debt. >:(

Probably because half of Obama's cabinet came from Goldman Sachs and they donated a butt load of money to his campaign.
FQ, both these things are common knowledge, his records are a big secret, but theirs aren't.

Tom,

Why is it that old facts are new information to so many people?  Is it that they don't get their news in the right place, they don't pay attention, they tune out bad things about their candidate or...some other conflagration of foolishness?

Had a sociology prof years ago who always wrote "The Masses" on the blackboard as "Them Asses."  Reflecting on that has helped me understand so many things over the years. ;) ;)

Crusader Rabbit's  Prof nailed it. The majority are pretty dumb and like it that way, when the news comes on the switch to a commercial.
Or they listen to the propaganda of the MSM and take it as gospel with out doing the slightest bit of thinking or research of their own . Always remember, Adolph Hitler came to power through winning a popular vote , and they German people used better judgement to elect him than our citizens use.
