He's busting your chops Tyler, It was FQ who admitted to voting for a guy who would have been aborted if his own policies had been in place back then. Back in 1961 a NICE white girl didn't talk with blacks, let alone anything else.

Women have been having abortions since...oh...since the beginning of time....or at least since the creation of the metal wire coat hanger.

Law or NO law, Obama's mom could have aborted him one way or the other if her mind was made up about it.

As far as the whole busting my chops thing...sorry...I guess I am still too new here because I still don't get it.

 

Anywhooo....NOT to stand up for Obama or his mother but... His mother and biological father met in a Russian language class in Hawaii.  A'yup, he was a Kenyan...an African-African...and it was Hawaii after all....not 1960's Alabama or Mississippi where a white gal being seen with an Afro-American would have been met with    and obviously considered taboo.

I would imagine that an African-African probably had to be one squared away dude in order to come to the United States in the 1960's and study, at the least, the Russian language.

I remember my 2 week to 4 week long spiel of Russian classes back in Colorado Springs in the fall of 1990.  It wasn't much fun, so I begged and pleaded with a German language instructor to switch me over to one of his German classes.  Thanks goodness!  Whew!...

again not defending the guy, but... if there is anything to be believed at the Wiki site on Obama, it does make it sound like his mom was 2 months pregnant with him when his parents got married.

Which is probably way different than what is considered the norm now, which would be:

A. it's okay to get an abortion (as a method of birth control  )

B.  it's okay now to have kids out of wedlock, and then live off of welfare....suckin' off the government's teat

So whether it was 1961 or 2010, his parents did do the right thing according to many people's norms.

 Some minor points about your posts,
First off, Medieval, and presumably earlier, Herbalists had "potions" that would induce Abortions, so you were probably closer to the truth when you said "Since the beginning of time".
2nd, I read somewhere, (please don't ask for a link, because I would not even know where to start looking ) that Obama Sr.'s family are 3/4+ ARAB . During slave days they were the Merchants, not the Merchandise.
3rd, IIRC you posted somewhere else that you were in your 30's, so you wouldn't remember, but back in those days any girl who got pregnant before marriage pretty much had to marry fast before it showed and she was labeled a "Tramp" or leave town. And even up here in supposedly "Liberal" New England, that mixed race stuff was an absolute NO NO.
A guy might rent a black girl for a couple hours, but you sure as heck didn't bring home a black or Asian, Hispanic or even a Jew. Even the fact that JFK was Catholic was a big deal back then.
