Med Kits
« on: January 27, 2010, 04:29:16 PM »
I need some advice on med kits.  For one, I'd like to have a kit specifically for the range that I carry in the car.  Next, I'd like something for day to day work travel and family travel that would stay in the car.  One kit that combines the two would be great...any suggestions and insight is appreciated.

Thanks,
Ken

I have a Diamondback Tactical BIRK kit and a BTIK kit at home and in my car.

www.diamondbacktactical.com

I like the Israeli Battle Dressing  so I added a couple to each kit with spare gloves.

You could make one up yourself but as these were very complete it was easier just to buy them.

I have broke it out a few times for bumps and scrapes at training classes and one car wreck.

Building your own is easier and cheaper, especially in that you don't get a lot of crap (or cheap crap) in the commercial kits you don't want or need.

Add some Quick-Clot to the range FAK.

Tactical Response (among others) has "operator" type FAKs that include QC or other things like the Israeli dressing.

Geoff, thanks for the heads up...once I see what's supposed to be in a kit...I'll add what you said.

I had the catalog in front of me yesterday. Your too polite. The website is terrible!

Try these two:

http://www.narescue.com/category.aspx?SID=1&Category_ID=187

Geoff is right you can pick and choose what you think you can use and put it together cheaper.

BTW, Quckclot packs fit really well in the flap pocket of a safepacker.
