First a little history, I am/was allways a big fan of the Sig's, I own 6 of them. I carried a P-220 throught my LEO career. I'm also a certified LEO and civilian firearms instructor (NRA also) in revolvers, pistols, shotgun & police rifle. Firearms are my life (hobby).
Soon as the P-250's were available I placed an order with Sig for one in the compact size [know as the shell to them] with a 4" barrel two tone. The P-250's are double action only with the sweetest DA pull you ever felt, this is called fireing assembly which is the serial numbered part that gets transferred from pistol to pistol. The slide assembly can be ordered in the length you want to fit the shell you perfer, good idea "customizing your own".
The problem: when these pistols are assembled by the owner, and placed in the battery position, the slides do not come all the way back to the end of the grip frame [shell], there is no smooth flowing lines that Sig is known for. I ordered another assembly from Sig this time in 45 caliber, when I installed the fireing assembly [which can only go in one way] then the rest of the pistol to the battery position, same thing, the slide sits about a quarter inch forward of the grip assembly. Looks very sloppy, test fired and functions OK, no problems. I wrote Sig a detailed letter about this and and so far no response [over 4 weeks].
It seems like the slides and parts are made at one place, then the grip shell another. I checked and double checked the install of the fireing assembly and this is correct-as the take down pin would not line up if it was wrong anyway.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with the P-250's?? Really looking for feedback from you if you have one. If I wanted a cheap poor quality pistol I would have bought a Glock (just kiddding, I can feel the mail comming now). Keep safe my friends and .
