Phoenix Will Tax Food 2%
« on: February 03, 2010, 07:29:09 AM »
http://www.azfamily.com/news/local/Phoenix-City-Council-expected-to-approve-food-tax-today-83339447.html

The city of Phoenix approved a 2% food tax yesterday. These people need to be shot! There is no limit to any of this. They won't cut jobs or services, just tax anything and everything. Now you can't even eat without being taxed. A lot of this is because of what that idiot Janet Napolitano left behind. Mainly a ton of red ink. Screw everything up and leave, just like she's doing with "Homeland Insecurity". She'll get tossed out there as well, just watch. She's as worthless as a burned out stoplight. This November should be an election to remember. I don't know a single soul who isn't pi$$ed as hell.  Bill T.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio probably has absolutely no interest in the job, and probably has pi55ed-off enough people he couldn't get elected.  But I think he'd get things under control in week-one and start showing a profit by the end of the first month.  Current governor is a decent conservative who got the job by default when Janet Napal-I-Don't-know became HSA chief--but she just doesn't have the necessaries in political support to undo the mess left by her mentally challenged predecessor.

It's just another example of what happens when the majority discover they can vote themselves all the stuff they want, and will only end when that same majority finally discover there's no more stuff left.

Most of what's happened in AZ is the result of snowbirds retiring up north and discovering that on retirement income they can't afford the taxes and fees needed to pay for all the stuff offered by their local government that they voted in.  So, they came to AZ to escape the high tax burden but started missing all the stuff.  So they voted for those politicians who promised to give them the stuff they missed.  And now you have a state debt that may never be paid--even by those professing to be fiscal conservatives.

By extrapolation, one can easily forcast the same result for these United States if the current leadership continues.  (Tom and Tom in 2012 is starting to sound like a really good idea.)
“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle

Most of the people who populate the northern Arizona cities like Prescott are white flight Californians escaping the slop that has infested that state. I can't say that I blame them.  Bill T.

Bienvenidos a Florida. Its like the Yankees thought they had screwed up their states as badly as they could, and so decided to come down here to over develop, over populate, over regulate and over tax us poor crackers. Were I Governor I would propose exiling the Cubans to New York, and the New Yorkers to Cuba. Then they would both get what they deservd. ;D

this is part of why Jack Spirko tells you to grow your own food.  Between the ex Californians and the ex-Central/So Americans populating AZ it is going to get trampled under the wonderful world of "let us fix all your problems" unless they get back on track soon.
For those that don't know Jack go here: http://www.thesurvivalpodcast.com/

Jack can ram it! Seriously. I should, "grow my own food", because of a bunch of idiots overrunning our state? How about we just kick them out on their a$$es? This is pure stupidity. These a$$holes have zero place here. Now I've got to pay a tax because we've been overrun with total idiots? A country is no more or less than a product of it's people. Why is Mexico a $h!thole? How about one single word: Mexicans! This country had better smarten up or we are all are going to be in a world of hurt. November will tell a very long tale!   Bill T.

WOW,
Bill used to be such a mellow well spoken guy till he started hanging around us  ;D
I agree with both though, MetaMurph is right that it is better to have your own food supply rather than being dependent on the "supply chain", it has to many completely mundane vulnerabilities. ( Blizzards up here )
Bill is right saying to hell with the illegals if they were REALLY the type of people we want here they would either do it legally or fix their own country.

Amen and amen! Mexico is like Ireland in the mid 19th century.  The best they have to offer are its greatest export. Talented, determined people who will fold my towels, fix my roof or mow my lawn. They do this because they know there is nothing for them back home. However, if these determind folks stayed home, they could make Mexico  (or Gutemala) into something, by fixing the corruption and putting a free economy in place. It sucks for them, sucks for American workers and the only people benefitting are the Meican government who gets to export its best and most hardcore foks who might rock the boat, and greedy companies here that employ them.Close the border and you will see better things happening on both sides of the border. Just my .02

I should point out there are a good many very hard working and LEGAL Mexicans living in this country. They have as much right to be here as I do. But that doesn't change the fact the Democratic party of this country would love to legalize by any way possible, all 30,000,000 (read 30 MILLION), illegals who are currently here. A country with no immigration laws, or unenforced ones is a country in chaos.

We see what happened in California. They are now bankrupt, with no way out except for begging the Federal government for a handout. We can't print and or borrow enough money to do this with all 50 states. If these 30 million are made citizens, we are doomed financially, as well as socially in this country. Again, a nation is simply a product of it's people. It can be nothing more.

Why is Mexico so bad they're all running here? Now, ask what are they going to do when they get here? Turn it into Beverly Hills? Doubtful. Some may view this as a "racist" statement, but I sadly view it as fact. Can anyone show me one single neighborhood, in one city, in one state, in any or all 50 states, where the blacks or Hispanics moved in, the whites moved out, and it got better? I cannot think of one. That is the sad truth of the matter, and exactly what we are looking at here on a grand scale. Most of these people lack much, if any education, and or marketable job skills. How many landscapers do we need in this country? There comes a time when you must park political correctness and deal with reality and the facts, however bitter they may be. This is one of those times. Enough is enough. I can all but guarantee you if every illegal Mexican left the state of Arizona, we wouldn't be needing a 2% tax on food.  Bill T.
